History
Since
the early 1970's, a quiet, yet effective revolution has been taking place in
the realm of exercise science.
|
Starting
with his invention of Nautilus®
equipment, Arthur Jones gave birth to what is now known as High
Intensity Training, or HIT.
This form of training places the emphasis on brief, infrequent, yet
high effort workouts, as opposed to the longer, more frequent, lower effort
workouts more commonly followed by the general public.
Mr.
Jones' innovations eventually lead to the modern day fitness center.
After a decade of dominance with clubs using his methods and brand name
exclusively, the fitness mainstream eventually diversified to other
equipment such as bikes, treadmills, stair climbers, and elliptical
machines.
What
was once 24 HOUR NAUTILUS® ,
eventually became 24 HOUR FITNESS®
, with the blink of an eye. However, no one has ever
credibly challenged the results of Mr. Jones' original training
concept.

In
its infancy, HIT workouts
were considered to be effective when being performed two or three times per
week with user defined workouts and traditional weight stack equipment.
Tone
in 12™ advances the revolution with our Isofitness™
training program, which allows you to replace as many as three traditional workouts per week
with just one 12-minute session.
Isofitness™
First
developed by exercise theorist/author Greg Kelly in the year 2000, Isofitness™
has evolved over the years as a program originally requiring 90 minutes of
weekly exercise. This number moved downward over the years to 30 and
20 minutes, through continued refinement of his methods and equipment.
Today, Greg has achieved a total fitness solution at TONE
in 12™ in just 12 minutes per week.
Greg
has also developed a low cost, modified version of TONE
in 12™ for
training at home. Total time
invested will vary depending on available equipment, instruction, and
training skill.
